For integrators, the traditional approach is to deliver whatever the customer asks. The inversion is to ask what design, implementation, and maintenance competencies you must build to deliver the Intelligent Workplace as a complete system.

For vendors, the traditional approach is to build the product and sell the features. The inversion is to ask what capabilities your product must deliver to enable the Intelligent Workplace, and to position, roadmap, and integrate against that demand.

For buyers, the traditional approach is to evaluate technology feature by feature, vendor by vendor. The inversion is to select against the Intelligent Workplace: assess every vendor and integrator on their ability to deliver the operating model, not the device list.
